Leo

Leo has been grooming for 4+ years and has been at Spawlash for 2 years now. He has patience for rowdy puppies and works on creating a safe, enjoyable environment for them to learn to be groomed. Leo works with all breeds and enjoys giving pets their “signature looks,” whether that be a beautiful Scotty pattern, doodles with a lamb cut, or a cute mutt with a mohawk. He strives to be your best friend’s best friend while you’re away.

Andrew

Groomer

Andrew has been grooming for 15 years now, and absolutely loves it! He was taught on the job as a bather and worked his way up to groomer status, thanks to the master groomers who taught him along the way. Andrew’s favorite breed would be a Yorkie, but his favorite cuts are lamb cuts, poodle cuts with pom poms, and patterns like schnauzers and Westies. Andrew just celebrated his 6th year at Spawlash and looks forward to many more.

FAQs

How can I get an accurate quote for pricing out a full-service bath or groom?

The best way to get an accurate quote is to bring your dog in so a groomer can assess and discuss your dog's needs with you first-hand. Pricing can vary based on the dog's size, coat type, coat condition, and behavior, which directly impacts how much time and effort it takes a skilled groomer to complete.

What if my dog is aggressive or fearful?

We assess each dog on a case-by-case basis and do our best to accommodate your furry family member's specific needs. We work hard to build a long-term trusting relationship with every dog, get to know them as individuals, and help them feel as comfortable as possible.

Can I stay and watch while my dog is groomed?

You can stay in the retail area, shop, or browse our products while your dog is being groomed in the enclosed groom room. However, we cannot allow pet parents to be in the groom room as this is a distraction for both the dogs and groomers.

Why wasn't a groomer available when I came in for a walk-in service?

Sometimes our groomers finish their day early or take time off, and we cannot guarantee a groomer will always be available until 3 PM for walk-in services.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes! We accept walk-ins for nail trims, nail filing, teeth brushing, and gland expression from 9 AM – 3 PM, so long as a groomer is available.

Do I need an appointment?
Full grooms, baths, and FFF services require an appointment for both dogs and cats. Walk-in services (nail trims, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, and gland expression) are available Tuesday–Sunday from 9 AM – 3 PM, as long as a stylist is available. Self-Wash is available Tuesday–Sunday from 9 AM – 4 PM; all clients must finish by 4:45 PM.
Can I stay and watch my pet being groomed?
You're welcome to stay in our retail area, shop, or browse products while your dog or cat is being groomed. However, we can't allow pet parents in the groom room, as this can be a distraction for both the pets and our stylists. Rest assured — your fur baby is in expert hands!
What about anxious or reactive pets?
We work hard to build a long-term trusting relationship with every pet we see. We get to know them as individuals and do our best to help them feel comfortable. We assess each dog and cat on a case-by-case basis and will always communicate with you about how your pet is doing.
How often should I have my pet groomed?
It depends on breed, coat type, and lifestyle! Most dogs benefit from professional grooming every 4–8 weeks. Breeds with fast-growing coats (Doodles, Poodles, Shih Tzus) typically need grooming every 4–6 weeks to prevent matting. Short-haired breeds can go longer between visits. Regular grooming isn't just about looking great — it keeps your pet's coat and skin healthy, and helps your pet build a lasting bond with a stylist they trust.
What should I do to prepare my pet for a groom?
Just bring your pet in on time and let us know about any concerns — skin sensitivities, recent injuries, behavioral notes, or specific style preferences. Regular brushing at home between grooms helps prevent matting and keeps your pet comfortable. If it's your first visit, we love to spend a few minutes getting to know your pet before we begin.
Should I pre-book recurring appointments?

Absolutely — and we encourage it! Pre-booking on a recurring schedule (every 4, 6, or 8 weeks) is the best way to keep your pet's coat and skin in optimal condition. Your pet also benefits from building a lasting relationship and bond with a stylist they know and trust. Clients who pre-book recurring appointments get first choice of their preferred day and time — plus $5 off every recurring service! 💜

Why does Self-Wash close at 3:45 PM?

Self-Wash requires clients to finish bathing their dog by 4:30 PM so that we have time to properly sanitize and disinfect equipment for use the next day.

What are your Self-Wash hours?

Self-Wash is available Tuesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 3:45 PM. All clients must be done using self-wash by 4:30 PM so we have time to properly sanitize and disinfect equipment for use the next day.

What is included in Self-Wash?
Everything you need! We provide 5 professional stations (including 3 large walk-in tubs), high-velocity dryers, quality shampoo and conditioner, our luxury perfume bar, towels, cotton balls for ears, scrubber brushes, and background music. Every tub is sprayed down with veterinary-grade parvo disinfectant between each dog family for your pet's safety. Just bring your dog — we handle all the cleanup.
Do you really track the free 6th wash?
We sure do! Every 6th self-wash visit is on us. No punch cards to lose — we keep track in our system. Just keep coming back!
Does my dog need to be on a leash at all times?

Yes! For your dog's safety and the safety of others, please keep your dog leashed at all times while in the salon, including the self-wash area. Just because your dog is friendly doesn't mean other dogs are.

Are children allowed in the Self-Wash area?

Yes! We encourage families to make their dog's spa day a fun family event. However, please be sure to watch your children and keep them in your self-wash station area. We can't have children left unattended and potentially running up to someone else's dog that may be fearful or aggressive.

What if you don't have the product or service that I'm looking for?

Please ask! We do our best to accommodate, whether it be ordering a retail product you'd like to see us carry or pricing for a custom service that isn't listed on our services menu.

What do you carry in the boutique?
We're more than a grooming salon! Our retail boutique is stocked with premium dog food, treats, toys, accessories, beds, grooming supplies, health supplements, collars, leashes, harnesses, and professional-grade grooming products. We also have a growing selection of designer doggie apparel, a birthday section for celebrating your pet's special day, and our "pawmacy" stocked with wellness and health essentials. Everything is hand-selected by our team — we only carry products we believe in.
How do you determine retail pricing?
We do our best to stay competitive to support our community. If you find a lower price at Amazon, Chewy, Walmart, Petco, or PetSmart, show us and we'll do our best to match or beat it! We believe in making quality products accessible — and you get the added convenience of shopping local and taking it home the same day.
How much does a groom cost?

All prices shown in this menu are starting-at prices. The best way to get an accurate quote is to bring your dog in so a stylist can assess their needs first-hand. Final pricing can vary based on size, coat type, coat condition, matting, behavior, and how much time and effort the groom requires.

Why might my dog's price differ from what's listed?
We assess each dog individually. Factors like heavy matting, thick undercoat, behavior that requires extra care and time, or the need for specialty products can affect pricing. We'll always communicate with you before we begin — no surprises.
What's included in a full-service groom?
Every full-service appointment includes a bath, blow-dry, nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland expression (if needed), a complimentary spritz of perfume, and a bandana. Dremel nail filing and teeth brushing are available as add-ons, or upgrade to one of our Spa Packages for the full luxury experience!
What's the difference between a Full Groom and a Face, Feet & Fanny?
A Full Groom includes a complete haircut and style in addition to the full bath and finishing services. A Face, Feet & Fanny (FFF) is a maintenance visit — we tidy up the face, paws, and sanitary areas with a full bath and blow-dry, but skip the full haircut. It's perfect for keeping your pup looking sharp between full grooms.
What kind of coat does my dog have?

Knowing your dog's coat type helps you choose the perfect Spa Package! Drop coats (Yorkies, Maltese, Shih Tzus) have long, silky hair that flows downward — our Silky Drop Coat Spa is ideal. Double coats (Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Corgis) have a dense undercoat beneath a protective topcoat — try our Shed-Free Double Coat Spa. Wire coats (Schnauzers, Terriers) have a coarse, bristly texture. Curly and textured coats (Poodles, Doodles, wire breeds) benefit from our Volume & Body Spa for lift and structure, or our Detox Spa for deep cleansing. Smooth/short coats (Labs, Beagles) benefit from our bath services and Gentle Skin Spa. Not sure? Just ask your stylist — they'll recommend the best treatment for your pup.

What is Meow Monday?
Meow Monday is our dedicated cat-only grooming day. No dogs are allowed in the salon — we dim the lights, reduce noise, and create a calm, quiet environment designed to minimize stress for your feline. After their service, cats wait in a warm, private area in their carrier until pickup. It's a true spa experience built around your cat's comfort. If Mondays don't work for your schedule, just let us know — we're happy to book cats early in the morning or in the evening upon request, before any dogs arrive.
What's involved in a cat bath or groom?
Cat grooming requires specialized expertise, gentle handling, and premium products formulated for feline skin, which is thinner and more delicate than a dog's. A cat bath includes a gentle cleanse with cat-safe shampoo, careful drying, and thorough brushing. A full groom adds a haircut and style tailored to your cat's coat. Every cat receives one-on-one care — our stylists are experienced with cats of all temperaments and take the time each individual needs. It requires extra skill, patience, and care — which is why we dedicate an entire day to doing it right.
How does the dental cleaning work without anesthesia?
Certified K-9 Smiles technicians gently position your pet on a comfortable dog bed while a veterinarian supervises. They use Bach Flower natural remedies to keep your pet calm, then hand scale all teeth (front, back, and below the gum line), polish them, and provide you with a dental report card. The whole process takes 30–45 minutes with sterile, single-use scalers.
Can high-energy, older, or nervous pets get a dental?
Yes! K-9 Smiles techs see around 100 dogs a week and are experienced with all sizes, ages, and temperaments. They also work with cats! If for any reason they cannot proceed, you won't be charged.
How often should my pet have a dental cleaning?
Most veterinarians recommend a professional dental cleaning at least once a year. Pets with a history of tartar buildup, gum disease, or bad breath may benefit from cleanings every 6 months. Regular dental care helps prevent serious health issues down the road — and keeps those kisses fresh!
What vaccines and wellness services are available at K-9 Smiles clinics?
In addition to dental cleanings, K-9 Smiles clinics offer individual vaccines ($35 each), wellness exams ($50), and heartworm tests ($35) — all performed by a licensed veterinarian right here at Spawlash. It's a convenient way to take care of multiple wellness needs in a single visit.
How do I book a dental or vaccine appointment?

Book directly at www.k-9smiles.com or call K-9 Smiles at (303) 654-0560. Clinic dates are limited, so we recommend booking early! Follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/Spawlash or call Spawlash at (303) 255-2205 to find out about upcoming clinic dates.
